     The Community of Richmound has Emergency Services that include a volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance, which also provides support to the surrounding communities and rural areas.

Facilities

  The Richmound Community Hall can handle all sorts events, from small meetings or bridal showers, to large dances or concerts featuring prominent musical entertainment. Bands such as Men Without Shame, Trooper, Prizm, April Wine and Nazareth have all taken the stage at the Community Hall.

  Richmound is an active community that offers an array of sporting and recreational possibilities for young and old alike.  Facilities such as the Arena, Curling Rink, Ball Diamonds, School Gymnasium, and new playground supports organized sports: hockey, figure skating, curling, baseball, softball, slo-pitch, and volleyball. The local Curling Club hosts weekly games, and bonspiels.

  The Chinook Corner Library and The Richmound Museum and Archives are located in the R.M. of Enterprise office building. The Library consits of three rooms and also has public internet access. The Museum and Archives includes photos, displays and artefacts of the people and events that defined the town.



Out of Town

There are also many other attractions within a short drive of Richmound. The Great Sandhills, a unique landscape that features shifting sand dunes, rare birds, wildlife and plant species can be reached by heading north on Highway 21 and then turning east at Liebenthal.

For those that like to camp and fish, there are many options available.   McLaren Lake Regional Park, located 10 minutes south of Richmound features a full service campground, playground and a lake stocked with rainbow trout.   North of Richmound, past the town of Burstall, is the Sandy Point campground, right on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River.   Going south on Highway 21, past Maple Creek, Cypress Hills Provincial Park will provide a family with days filled with enjoyment.   While there, you can also visit Fort Walsh, a functioning settler's village for tourists to learn about the early 1900's.

Medicine Hat, Alberta, an hours drive south on Highway 41 has a myriad of shopping and entertainment options.

West of Richmound, on Highway 371 is Hilda, Alberta. If you are an avid bowler or just looking for some family fun, head on over to their Bowling Alley and community centre for the afternoon.

Within a 20 minute drive, everyone can enjoy a swim during the summer months at either the Fox Valley or Burstall indoor swimming pool. Swimming lessons are also available.

For the golfers, a short drive will take you to Burstall or McLaren Lake. Travelling a little further will get you to Leader, Maple Creek or Medicine Hat.
